Why Everyday Herbal?

Everyday Herbal can help you navigate the world of herbal medicine and supplements in order to find a healthy and safe path to health and wellness.

We are all confronted by health and wellness challenges in life, whether it is trying to follow a healthy diet, deal with chronic health issues, or perhaps just support our bodies and minds as we age. Also, increasingly, we are beginning to understand how vitally important plants are and have been to humans, as food, as medicine, and even as agents of altered gene expression. Never before have we understood so much of the science of human-plant symbiosis and so it is not surprising that, finally, we are coming to embrace medicinal plants again as a path to wellness.

And yet, the information explosion is daunting, the supplement options are seemingly infinite, and the science incomplete. In this environment, a trained herbalist can help navigate the complexities of options and help clients understand how plants work generally and how herbs may be helpful specifically for that client.

Unlike most pharmaceuticals, plant tend to work synergistically. They have multiple constituents that usually have multiple impacts, tending toward a balancing effect that allows our bodies to shift or adjust in order to heal. A trained herbalist can help choose combinations of herbs that optimize the synergistic effect.

At Everyday Herbal, our goal is to help clients learn as much as they can about herbs that may be useful for them and to provide coaching and guidance as clients begin or expand their use of plant medicine. Typically, a consultation begins with general information about medicinal plants and how they work. Then, we identify issues and goals and the ways in which that client may be able to integrate medicinal plants into their lives. Next your herbalist creates appropriate formulas and recommendations, including information on how and when to take a formula, the form of the herb that will be most effective (tea, tincture, capsule or other form), reasonable expectations for results, potential side effects, and where to buy or source good quality herbs.
